"Let us sleep a little longer, Mum," said the children.
"Life is not all fun and all work. If you work a little you'll enjoy your fun better." said Mum.
The drowsy children got up. They liked to run about and play. Whenever they had little homework to do,
" We'll do it later. There is still time." they said.
Then, Mother had to sit with them and get the work done. The week rolled on. The teacher told the students to learn to write the alphabets. Mother wanted to take it up and check if her children knew it.
"No hurry,Mum. There is so much time." said the children and put it off. But, Mother insisted that they complete the work. Sumana a neighbor came over a Saturday afternoon.
"Sume of us are going out to enjoy the weekend. We'll have a picnic. We'll return tomorrow evening. My mother has invited Lily and Nelly to join in the fun." said Sumana.
"Yea, yea," screamed the girls in their babyish voice and got ready without any problem. Mother packed up their clothes and allowed them to go.
The party tiny tots returned the next day. They had had a gala time. They were tired. Mother told them to rest. She did not worry. A few days back she had already prepared her children for the next day's class. What she told them was. "Life is fun and work."
